MX 0. Objectives

MX 0.1. The key objective of this league is to be social, friendly & relaxed.

MX 1. Game Characteristics

MX 1.1. All Bristol & District League Matches shall be played to Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) Rules (www.volleyball.org/rules). However the following exceptions to the rules set out in this document apply.

MX 1.2. All Bristol & District Tournament Matches shall be played to the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) Rules & to the direction of the Individual Tournament Director. Specifically it may be nessacary to shorten or have timed matches.

MX 2. Playing Format

MX 2.1. All Matches are best of three sets. Ie the first team to win two sets wins the match. 2-0 or 2-1 is match winning score’s.

MX 2.2. To win a set if it is the first or second set played, it shall be the first team to achieve 25 points with a minimum margin of 2 clear points. However, in the case of a 24-24 tie play shall continue until one of the teams achieves a two point margin. This is capped at 28 points. Ie 28-27 is a win.

MX 2.3. If a third set is required to win this it shall be the first team to achieve 15 points with a minimum margin of 2 clear points. However, in the case of a 14-14 tie play shall continue until one of the teams achieves a two point margin. This is capped at 18 points. Ie 18-17 is a win.

MX 2.4. All games shall be played on a men's height net.

MX 3. Regular Interruptions

MX 3.1. Regular game interruptions are Time-outs & Player substitutions.

MX 3.2. Under Bristol & District Rules each team is allowed ONE time-out and six substitutions per set.

MX 4. Eligibility

MX 4.1. In all Bristol & District matches each team shall have a minimum of three wild cards on court during play.

MX 4.2. The definition of a wild card is:

MX 4.2.1. A Woman.

MX 4.2.2. A Man over the age of 50 (on the date of the game).

MX 4.2.3. A junior player which is someone under the age of 17. (On the date of the game).

MX 4.3. A person who fits two of these categories, as an example a woman over 50 cannot be counted as two wild cards.

MX 4.4. If a team elects to play with a Libero and the player fits the criteria set out in 3.2 he or she cannot be counted as one of the wildcards because their involvement in play is intermittent.

MX 4.5. It is a Five point penalty for each missing Wild card in the first two sets. It is a four point penalty for each missing wildcard in the third.

MX 4.6. Teams may have less than 6 players on court however you must have three wild cards on court at all times otherwise at the descretion of the opposing team rule 4.5 may be applied.

MX 4.7. A Player may not play for more than one team in the mixed league.

MX 5. Equipment

MX 5.1. Teams are expected to play games in matching kit.

MX 5.2. Teams are expect to bring to a match:

MX 5.2.1. Two Whistles

MX 5.2.2. 3No. B&D Score sheets

MX 5.2.3. A working Pen

MX 5.2.4 'If' Possible a scoreboard and areals

MX 6. Results

MX 6.1 It is the Responsibility of the winning team to make sure that results are entered onto the website www.bad-vl.org

MX 6.2 Results are entered in the following manner;

MX 6.2.1. Completed & signed off score sheets should be photographed with a smartphone or simular. A completed scoresheet is a sheet that has a match number, date, the venue, the winning team, the winning score & player lists for both teams who played.

MX 6.2.2. Convert the image to a PDF using www.convert-jpg-to-pdf.net or simular.

MX 6.2.3. Upload the pdf file to the http://www.bad-vl.org website through the update tab. (user names & passwords obtianed from B&D webmaster which is Kris Lus This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

MX 6.2.4. Through the update tab manually install the results for each set.
